Points System
The points system will see teams accumulate points across races at each event to give them a standing on the evening from 1-8. League points will then be awarded based on this standing. The points accumulated during the evening will ONLY contribute to the event standings and not the league points – see points system for exact details.

Results of Future Stars races will be just as important as the elite events and all the riders on each team can make an important contribution to the team result at each event. Star riders will also make a difference when they are available helping teams to boost their league position after specific events.

The Teams
Each team will race in branded kit and will be housed in a branded team area in the rider enclosure. Prize money will be awarded based on team standings at the end of the season and each team will have a captain to handle team affairs and media.

Each of the 8 teams will be made up of a squad of riders and team composition will change at each event depending on rider availability.

The standard team composition for each event will include:

  1. Future Stars male
  2. Future Stars male
  3. Future Stars male
  4. Future Stars female
  5. Future Stars female
  6. Future Stars female
  7. Elite Endurance
  8. Elite Endurance
  9. Elite Endurance
  10. Elite Sprinter

Each team will feature a core of British domestic riders who are expected to be available for the full season. The wider squad will include big name British and international riders who will only be available once or twice during the season. These ‘star’ riders will replace domestic riders at the events that they are available.

The Future Stars riders will come from a squad of riders. These riders can be rotated within their own teams but riders can’t change teams during the series.

The squad will be decided at the beginning of the season and riders can not move between teams during the season. Riders can be added to the teams during the season particularly if a new discipline is introduced to the Championship as a one off e.g. elite female endurance, elite female sprinting, junior sprinting.

Once the season is over the transfer market is open and riders can move between the teams.

Team Captains
Team Captains can be a rider or non-rider. They will normally ride the full season and will assist in team selection and manage team strategy at each event. The Team Captain will also be responsible for team PR and will be available for TV interviews and other media requests.

Prize Money
Prize money will be allocated to the team based on the final standings at the end of the season. The prize money will be divided between the riders on the team and will be calculated depending on number of appearances.

Future Stars Competition
The Future Stars individual competition will be retained and will sit alongside the league with points awarded for both championships. The leaders will continue to wear the Future stars leader’s jerseys.
