This Saturday, the best young male endurance riders will come to the National Cycling Centre in Manchester to battle for the right to wear the British champion’s jersey in the Madison for 2010. They include one of the riders in each of the teams that were on the podium in 2009.
The Isle of Man’s Mark Christian, who won the title with Sky professional Peter Kennaugh is teamed with Silver medallist in 2009, Luke Rowe whilst Andy Fenn (bronze in 2009) rides with 2009 Derny Champion Jon Mould.
In all, 12 teams will line up in the afternoon event to race over a distance of 50 kilometres with a sprint every 20 laps (5 kilometres). Out of the 12 teams, four of them come from the Olympic Academy (Endurance) and they'll face other GB developments teams in a field dominated by young up and coming riders.
Tickets are still available for the afternoon event which will take place between 12:00 and 15:30. You can buy tickets online until Friday morning and tickets will also be able to purchase on the door.
