WORLD-CLASS TRACK SPRINTERS READY FOR REVOLUTION SERIES ROUND 3
Published 04/1/13
A world-class field of track sprinters will descend on Manchester this Saturday night as the sold-out Revolution Series Round 3 begins the cycling year in style.
In a double bill at the National Cycling Centre, the National Madison Championships begin at 1pm, followed straight afterwards by the Revolution Series at 7pm.
The afternoon Madison event includes sprint qualification for the Revolution Series in the evening - tickets are available here and will be available on the door on Saturday.
British Olympic Team Sprint champion Philip Hindes tops the bill at Revolution Round 3 in a sprinting line-up packed with quality.
An all-star team will feature Robert Förstemann, Dave Daniell and Matt Crampton. French trio Francois Pervis, Michael D'Almeida, Julian Palma also team up, while six day legend and four-times world champion Franco Marvulli appears for Team howies.
Förstemann said: "It's always a lot of fun for me to ride in Britain, and I'm really happy to begin my season in Manchester in 2013."
The 2008 Olympic keirin silver medallist Ross Edgar makes his debut for Team IG Sigma Sport and former Team Sky man and British TT champion Alex Dowsett, now at Movistar Team, will guest for Team Sportscover.
The sprint for the Revolution Series Elite Championship is heating up: Rapha Condor JLT lead the way with 125 points after two rounds but with Andy Tennant leaving for Madison-Genesis, can Ed Clancy and his new partner James McCallum maintain the team's impressive form?
German outfit Rudy Project RT are just 25 points behind Rapha with Marcel Kalz and Robert Bengsch returning and hungry for more at Round 3: See full event details here
