ARMITSTEAD AND VOS RENEW RIVALRY AT REVOLUTION
Published 31/10/12
Olympic Road Race gold medallist Marianne Vos will renew her rivalry with Britain’s Lizzie Armitstead at the sold-out Revolution Series Round 2 on 1st December.

Lizzie Armitstead will be co-presenting on round 1 ITV4 highlights
Vos held off Armitstead in a thrilling sprint finish on The Mall in the Women's Road Race at last summer's London 2012 Olympics. Now Revolution Series fans will see them race again at the National Cycling Centre, rekindling the excitement and passion of the London Olympic Games.
Armitstead joined Ned Boulting as guest presenter for the ITV4 highlights show at Revolution Round 1 on Saturday night (27th October) and announced the rematch with Vos to the packed crowd: "I'll be racing at the next Revolution and I've been told that Marianne will be here too. It's only a few weeks away so I'll need to get training!"
Ahead of her appearance at Round 2, Vos said: "It will be amazing to return to track racing at the Revolution Series after winning Olympic Gold in the Road Race in London. I have great memories of competing in Manchester - I won the Points Race at the World Championships there in 2008 so it's where I started to have success on the track. I'm really looking forward to competing at Revolution against some of the best riders in the world."
Watch Revolution Round 1 highlights tonight (Wednesday 31st October) on ITV4 at 8pm to find out how Olympic Gold medallists Steven Burke and Ed Clancy fared against Paralympian Jody Cundy (catch up on the highlights in ITV Player).
Revolution is the first televised track cycling in the UK since the phenomenal success of Team GB's riders at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics - with tickets sold out for the first three rounds in Manchester the TV highlights are the only way to experience our Olympians in action.
Tickets are still available for the final round of the Revolution Series at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow on 2nd February.
